Pak Mission Society is working in 40 villages of 3 union councils in District Rajanpur. Interventions of the project are integrated which are addressing three thematic areas of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and livelihood. The main purpose of this project is to ensure that 40 flood and hill torrent vulnerable communities are disaster-resilient and have a sustainable livelihood.
COVID-19 has economically impacted the lives of people of Rajanpur and specifically the vulnerable class. PMS launched its COVID-19 response in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department and distributed 50 food ration packages among transgender and sanitary workers. Inclusion of the most marginalized in COVID situation was appreciated by the local Government. Mr. Aurangzeb Sandho (Assistant Commissioner, Rajanpur) and Tehmina Dilshad (Deputy Director, Social Welfare) visited the distribution point and appreciated PMS efforts for COVID-19 response. Likewise, 50 food ration packages were distributed among the affected families of targeted villages of UC Harrand and 20 food ration packages were distributed among families of UC Lundi Saidan, in collaboration with Qatar Charity. Moreover, our team also organized handwashing sessions to promote hygiene practices.
