Working tirelessly in the slum communities of Islamabad, Pak Mission Society has tackled many hazards and issues due to ill-planning for managing municipal solid waste. One such community is that of H-9 – specifically facing health issues, dying businesses, and increased concerns for society. Alfred is also a resident of the H-9 community who faced many hardships in his business due to waste piles blocking the entrance of his shop. Customers would prefer to go to nearby shops. With the introduction of solid waste management techniques in the community, collecting waste every day, and reducing health-related issues now Alfred like many of his fellow residents is enjoying a healthier lifestyle and a lucrative income.
