’We are often mistreated and are not considered as a part of society. People only see us as a source of entertainment in events but, due to COVID-19, we had no source of income left. We used to go door to door and beg for help but, people used to shut the door on our faces.
Haleema (aged 18), wife of Shams Al-Haq had survived a complicated delivery due to Mother and Child heathcare Center (MCHC) in Kohistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She shared that she was about to give birth to a child at her home, in the remote village, near Kohistan when the traditional wisdom failed to cater her delivery.
