Water, a human right, is critical for human survival and development. We are striving to give better life to people through good hygiene, clean water and toilets. Children are getting healthier and communities are enjoying fullness of life. Safe water is essential for drinking, personal hygiene as well as to prevent numerous water borne diseases. We are saving many lives through our WASH interventions and will continue to do so.
PMS is devoted to improve the quality of life by WASH interventions which result in improved health, increased maternal and child survival and reduction in poverty. In pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 6, which states “ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”, we are reaching to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Installation of handpumps, deep wells, construction of latrines, construction of handwashing stations and water ponds and distributing Nadi filters are the key components of WASH. The most unreached communities are being sensitized through awareness sessions on health and hygiene, Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) sessions, theatre performances and provision of hygiene kits. Women who used to walk every day for hours to collect water, now have time to spend with their families. Those who used to complain about health issues caused by carrying heavy water containers are also relieved.
